Respect for Life, Conservation-based, Non-Smoking Vessel.
Great Naturalists Who Open the World of the Sea for You.
HOW WE'RE DIFFERENT:
We run only Whale Watching, and other non-fishing charters, therefore our vessel is always clean, tidy and smells good.
We offer one of the longest trips on the Monterey Bay and find that having plenty of time to explore the National Marine Sanctuary allows us to both keep the pressure down on the the animals we see while giving our guests great exposure to them.
We excel at customer service, and offer an information rich experience with incredible and friendly crew/naturalists. Rest assured- we will take great care of you!
Our location in Moss Landing, California is easy to reach from any direction; there is ample parking within 200 feet of our vessel, and the cost is only $3 for the cruise.
Access to our vessel is very easy and we welcome folks in wheelchairs.
Worried about seasickness? Check out Relief Bands. Designed by NASA, they rock!
We believe in giving back. That's why we have special rates for schools and conservation organizations and host kids' groups that couldn't afford to come out any other way.
We help researchers where possible and we support numerous animal rescue groups.
What we offer:
Whale Watching Nature Cruise Adventures
Special Charters
Educational and Informative Narrations
Conservation based and Environmentally Aware Operation
Year Round: The species of dolphins we often see includes: Risso's, Pacific White-Sided, Northern Right Whale, Common, and Bottlenose. We also see Harbor and Dall's Porpoise.
Everyday: We will usually see Sea Otters, California Sea Lions, Harbor Seals and Sea Birds (the latter, at times, by the hundreds of thousands).
At Sanctuary Cruises, our respect and dedication for our natural environment is without equal in the industry - from the owner to the captains and crew. For over 25 years our owner has actively worked in international environmental protection, including three campaigns to Antarctica to intervene in the illegal whaling operations being conducted every year in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary which surrounds our southernmost continent.

Orcas today!

Well, you've heard it before: everyday is different out on the Bay. Today we had Humpbacks and Orcas, the latter just right outside the harbor!
Local Humbacks and an old friend....
2008-05-01 01:54:56
There have been plenty of Humpbacks hanging around just outside Moss Landing, including a big old female named Big Fin. She comes back every year and has a new calf with her every other. Last year she had the little one and this year she is hanging out with a small Humpback that could well be last year's calf. Needless to say - the whale watching is great this time of year.
